Synopsis
The filmmakers follow the journalists from a secret meeting with Edward Snowden in Moscow to Paris, Munich, Tel Aviv, Malta… During the search for the murderers of their Maltese colleague, with whom they worked on the Panama Papers case, the German reporters come across alarming information about the Austrian Vice-Chancellor – something that could have enormous consequences for the entire government of Austria. Another breakthrough case is thus revealed, layer by layer. This documentary offers a look at the difficulties journalists face in their work, as well as the dilemmas they encounter and the questions they ask themselves: they know that independent journalism not only plays a watchdog role, but it also has great power.
