Synopsis
Until the outbreak of Covid-19, Bangkok was the most frequently visited city in the world. Hordes of tourists flocked to the streets filled with cook shops and markets. Shopping malls, picturesque temples and the famous entertainment districts were the drawing forces that attracted more visitors each year. Some came to indulge in shopping, others for the cultural offerings. Some set their hearts on finding true love only to see their livelihoods reduced to rubble. The inhabitants, however, have to cope with the collateral damage of an expanding consumer society on a daily basis. Canals and waterways choking with garbage, air pollution that endangers health and permanent traffic gridlock.
