Directing: Jaroslav Kratochvíl

Synopsis

A documentary, last will and testament of a Czech Indian Chief Miloslav Stingl. This road movie portrays Miloslav Stingl as an Indian in the city. We follow the aging man on his daily routines as well as the crusades of a young man on expeditions of the world. The film blurs the lines between desire to leave “something” behind and the nostalgia for the remote and lost world of exotic landscapes. The final journey depicts the imagined journey of an Indian chief to his final hunting grounds and the Prague Castle, to collect appreciation for his life’s work. Miloslav Stingl spent 19 years travelling, he collected over 500 hours of film material, wrote more than 40 books; and he is the most translated Czech author. He is 83 years old and has made a promise not to die before this movie is finished.
