Synopsis
The Bittner Case made headlines across Germany. In June 2004, police officers in the East German city of Cottbus found decomposed body of 6 year old Dennis in deep freeze in his parents apartment. The parents, Angelika and Falk Bittner, were arrested and charged with murder of their son. Filmmaker Caterina Woj explores the short and painful life of little Dennis, examining an unfolding tragedy long in the making. The tragedy which should have been obvious to the family friends, to the neighbours, and to the child welfare department staff responsible for supporting the family unable to cope on its own.
