The Archivists

On a warm night Mirna (32) opens a box filled with cassette-tapes and binders. Tired of insomnia she decides to finally look at the archive her long-deceased German grandfather Theo made especially for her.

Getting hooked by his slow voice on tape and the meticulously organized archive, Mirna discovers how Theo’s life must have been during the second world war. Sometimes the archive shows a introspective war antagonist, other times a proud German war officer.
Getting lost in the overload of information, Mirna starts questioning her grandpa and the archive itself. Why did he make it and what is he actually trying to tell her?
By following Mirna’s thoughts and discoveries, an ambiguous relationship between the two unfolds, where the echoes of a common history become slowly more apparent.
