Synopsis
Film about European Sword Dances based on unique nitrate film shot by František Pospíšil in the 1920s, when European documentary filming came into its own. It includes material from Croatia to Britain - some of the earliest 'field recording' on film. This forms the basis to look at sword dances across Europe where the archive material locks in with present-day reality. Where did these dances originate? What do they mean?
