Synopsis
There is no such thing as an innocent image. In the process of constructing a personal history we attempt to forget unwanted events. Whole nations and entiry cultures do the same, generating official versions of history. It requires a great deal of effort to re-discover what has been ignored of suppressed by these mechanisms and to re-inegrate that into an alternative historical perspective. The Trapdoor is one version of this process. (T.S.)
