Synopsis
‘Care’ is a short documentary which attempts to portray the theme of caregiving work of live-in carers for the elderly in Germany and Austria based on the relationship between two strangers.
Albine is an 87-year-old Austrian woman with symptoms of senile dementia, who has spent her whole life in the place of her birth. Marta (the author of the film plays the role) comes to Albine's house to temporarily replace another carer.
Through the slow-paced intense camera's observation of the main character, contrasted with the reborn spring blooming nature, the author catches not only the story of the care work but rather a universal aspect of the human condition, creating a poetic tale about passing time.
