Synopsis

Music for 5 Engineers is a collective portrayal of several generations of sound technicians which were a part of Bratislava Experimental Studio during the era of socialist rule in Czechoslovakia up until not so far-back past. They are not composers, but sound engineers, certainly the less noted part of composers' tandem.
The film tells a story of Bratislava Experimental Studio and the technological shift of the 20th century art that motivated the rise of electronic music. It examines the growing and shifting meaning behind electronic sounds in the course of time. The message of Bratislava Experimental Studio still alive in spite of its ceased existence.
