Devil's Colony

In March 2005, following a verbal agreement with local health authorities, a film crew arrives in the small village of Tichilesti in Eastern Romania to shoot a documentary about its 23 inhabitants - leper patients. A single doctor attends the community with a vision in mind: to eradicate the widespread fear of contagion by constructing a home for the elderly unattained by the disease and allowing his leper patients to interact with healthy individuals for the first time in over a century. Meanwhile, the Romanian Ministry of Health forbids shooting in the sanitarium, warning of a high risk of contagion. As a result, the documentary on the last European inhabitants touched by the microbe of the "devil`s disease" started outside the sanitarium.
