The Finalists

The observational documentary follows five finalists of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award 2010 from their presentation in the Dox Centre for Contemporary Art before the announcement of the winner for the period of five years. Three artists and two artistic duos met in the final of the prestigious award; painter of rather abstract canvases Alice Nikitinová, streetartist Jakub Matuška, conceptual artist and theorist Václav Magid, duo of draugthsmen David Böhm and Jiří Franta and mixed media duo Vasil Artamonov and Alexej Klyukov. The artists are disparate not only in their artistic expression but also in their origins and mentality. The only thing to link them together is the fact that they studied at Czech art academies.
