Synopsis
At a remote monastery tucked deep in the Carpathian Mountains, young people gather throughout the year to follow a monastic routine of silence, prayer, and work. They cook, clean, tend to the land—and in doing so, they search for meaning, connection, and themselves.
‘At the Monastery’ is a contemplative, observational documentary that follows the rhythms of this community over time, capturing a mosaic of people who come as strangers and often leave transformed. Through strict discipline and collective effort, the film explores how spirituality, routine, and service shape the body and mind.
Rather than following a single protagonist, the story moves with the space itself—alive with paradoxes: solitude and communion, ego and surrender, belief and doubt. The monastery becomes a vessel for questions about faith, identity, and purpose in a time when many are still just learning how to live
