Uncle Vova

The film's hero - a real entertainer - is a volunteer. He gives concerts in children's cancer hospitals, sings in a church choir, and looks after his elderly mother. Despite all of his apparent goodness, however, he remains a typical Russian. His two daily tasks include both saving souls and getting drunk on vodka, and daily he makes the journey from the cancer hospital to the church choir - via the bar! Those human frailties that usually provoke sympathy, in this film bring about a smile - it's just impossible not to like Uncle Vova, with whom you just want to, well, have a drink!
