Synopsis
Oh, My Great Yiddish God! That ́s what my grandmother shouted when something went wrong. As did my mother, as do I, as does my daughter. Our facial features and survival strategies have been passed from generation to generation. Strangely enough, only girls were born into family. That is, until my daughter asks for a son. The end the female line, no longer an eternal repetition of proverbs appropriate for all occasions.
Just on the day when Grandmother marries Grandfather, Franz Ferdinand's car turns a corner in in Sarajevo. Only Two shots, and the 20th century begins.
Our family history covers a hundred years.
