Synopsis
Between two vast mountain ranges in the former Soviet Republic of Kyrgyzstan sits one of the world's largest remaining walnut forests. The forest is a haven for biodiversity, a place where ancient strains of fruits and nuts thrive. For centuries it has also provided a livelihood for the walnut farmers of the nearby town of Arslanbob, who trek to the forest each September for harvest season. Harvest Moon follows the walnut farmer Bolot Tagaev and his family as they encounter myths and legends of a forest, and a way of life, that is rapidly disappearing.
