Synopsis

Documentary film Vlasov is the first Czech attempt to objectively chronicle for TV one of the most controversial chapters of the Second World War. The film offers description of a unique drama inside the fire of the World War II, and brings its viewers unknown stories, testimonies, and unpublished archival materials. The documentary focuses on the final days of the Vlasov Army and its actions during the Prague Uprising in May 1945 and intends to confront the claims made by the official ideology after the War with the ascertained facts. The authors also intend to focus on Army's subsequent disruption with the rebels and the final attempt to get under the protection of the Americans. Moreover it focuses on the bitter fate of General Vlasov himself - his dramatic capture, his show trial and execution.
