The Bubenicek's

Brothers Jiří and Otto Bubeníček's, one of the finest dancers of world ballet scene, celebrate in 2014 their 40th birthdays. Both announce end of the career. Both say goodbye to their home theatres. Jiří in Dresden Semper Opera and Otto in Hamburg. The film captures the last performance of each of them. We see Jiří in Dresden in Romeo and Juliet, The Legend of Joseph and of course the Christmas Nutcracker. In October 2014 he danced at the Paris Théâtre de la Ville in performances of William Forsythe. Otto participates in Hamburg the incredible staging of Othello and The Nutcracker. On their last performances, accompanied by strong emotions, we create two mini-portraits, which in one moment become on story showing two brothers as inseparable creative tandem. During frenetic applause, that crowned each of their performances, we realize the pride that we are Czechs - and it is not a sportsman.
