In 2012 the production at the Bovanenkovo gas field on the Yamal Peninsula, a remote section of Siberia, had begun. Now this frozen land is the most popular part of Russia with gas producers. The industrial zone had been located right on the historical migration route of the indigenous reindeer herders- Nenets. Now they wade through the industrial zone to get the summer pastures. The nomadic herders are faced with a choice to save their unique style of life, their traditions or to assimilate with modern industrial society. This story is about people, whose fates are closely connected with the land, and now they are sandwiched between two epochs, between the future and the past.
