Synopsis
Romania is blessed with beautiful landscapes. This film follows a group of Romanian shepherds on their trip up to the mountains. For us, it is a trip; for them, this is a custom from antiquity. The shepherds' trip up to mountainous pastures begins in April and ends in October. The purpose of the trip is transhumance - the seasonal movement of flocks between mountainous and lowland pastures. In Romania, transhumance is practiced with perhaps 10-15% of the national sheep flocks.
