My Family Tree

Main character of My Family Tree is a schoolboy from an ethnically mixed family with Latvian, Russian and Swedish roots. These roots weave together representatives of different languages, nations as well as different political systems. This story will increase the understanding of schoolchildren and youth from Latvia with its complex history. The boy puts together the story of his ancestry from what he has heard and from family albums. A documentary style is mixed with short scenes using actors act out stories he has heard from relatives. This gives the film a personal twist, bringing lives, places and relationships that cannot be found in archives with dry historical facts.
