Louisa

Louisa is 23 when she has to face the fact that she can’t hear anymore. All her life she has tried hard to be like everyone else: communication a constant fight of lip reading, ever fearing to fail. Louisa starts to study sign language and learns to find her own ways. Against all seeming odds - she decides not to get a hearing implant - and finally decides to move out from her parents. This film is an acoustic and sensual journey in between hearing and seeing. A portrait of the filmmaker’s sister.
