Background Films

Background Films s.r.o. is a production company focused exclusively on exceptional author-driven films with a co-production potential and the expectation of meeting international standards. The company is running by Mikuláš Novotný and Klára Žaloudková since 2011. Mikuláš Novotný co-operated as line producer on famous films directed by Robert Sedláček or Karel Vachek. He also finished Czech horror film Ghoul by Petr Jákl. Klára Žaloudková finished as producer a travelogue film essay Blind Gulliver by M. Ryšavý and documentary gangster film Helena's Law by P. Nesvačilová. The company released on international film festivals debut Journey to Rome by T. Mielnik or short documentary Resort. They are currently finishing a new film directed by a legend of the Czech documentary film K. Vachek.
