Survivance

Survivance was founded by Carine Chichkowsky and Guillaume Morel. The two were bound by a common desire for « another » cinema, one that does not respond in an overwhelming way to what the market would like to sell to us, but that speaks to those who wish to see it. The word survivance’ denotes things that « appear in spite of everything » as the philosopher George Didi-Huberman would say. And this term is dear to them because it encompasses both the intimate and political area. From its foundation, Survivance has two main activities : producing documentaries and fiction art-house films and distributing rare films on DVD and in theaters with Carine in charge of production development and Guillaume at the head of distribution activities.
