AFI Docs

AFI DOCS (formerly Silverdocs) was created through a unique alliance between AFI and the Discovery Channel to showcase, honor and expand the audience for independent documentaries. In only its second year, Silverdocs has become one of the largest and most prestigious international film festivals in the Washington area, attracting filmmakers and films from all over the world. In 2013, AFI DOCS presented more than 50 films representing more than 30 countries, and numerous special events to an audience of over 27,000.
AFI DOCS’ concurrent 2-day International Documentary Conference brings together leaders from across the commercial, education and public media spectrum who believe in the vital influence of the documentary form and the importance of exploring current business, creative and cultural challenges in a focused, professional environment. In its first year, the Conference drew 450 filmmakers, producers, programmers and other industry experts.
