About the Company

The Document International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival invites applications from both established & emerging documentary filmmakers, to take part in the UK's only festival dedicated to international human rights. With screenings, performances, panel discussions and workshops – Document aims to explore human rights, activism and politics in original and surprising ways. Document aims to challenge and incite conversation with an ever expanding scope. We show work in a wide range of styles, from reportage to cinematic essays, from investigative journalism to experimental forms addressing issues such as: Immigration & asylum; racism; miscarriages of justice; eviction; poverty; social exclusion; war and conflict; workers / unemployed rights; Africa; Palestine / Israel; Central / Eastern Europe; North & South America; Roma, Gypsies & Travellers; self determination; Central Asian former Soviet republics; mental health & social care; HIV / AIDS; young people; women; human trafficking; indigenous cultures; environmental exploitation & disaster; global policies versus local effects; LGBT rights...
