The Romedia Foundation is a Romani non-governmental organization based in Budapest, Hungary. We work towards contributing to a positive perception of Romani ethnic identity, combating anti-Roma prejudice, and providing alternative information to policy makers on Roma through the production of films and videos, international multi-media campaigns, and public events.Having been founded in 1992, the Romedia Foundation has since sought to make use of television broadcasting, publishing, and the opportunities offered by the multi-media digital technology to disseminate an insider’s viewpoint on Romani issues.Romedia promotes the self-representation and empowerment of Romani activists and challenges centuries-old prejudices about Roma.Using creatively the most up-to-date digital filming technologies, we achieve ground-breaking quality in video production and offer a fresh approach to the way minorities are represented.
