Acclaimed as the most beloved and successful Jewish community event in the Bay Area, the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival is the oldest (1980) and largest Jewish Film Festival in the world. Our Bay Area audience has grown to over 40,000 people, becoming larger and more diverse each year. This growth is a direct result of our commitment to screening films that explore relationships between Jews and other groups such as African Americans, Latinos, Arabs, Asians, Palestinians and others, and to exploring how we, as Jews, express our Arab and Latino(a) identities. Screenings take place at the historic Castro theatre in San Francisco and venues throughout the Bay Area during July and August. Works in all forms and genres are considered.
