Profilm was founded in 1990 in Reykjavík, Iceland, as a film and television production company. One of Profilm´s first projects was to film a documentary in Japan about Icelandic singer Björk and her band at the time, The Sugarcubes. Profilm has been fortunate enough to work for some of the leading television stations in the world including the BBC, Discovery Channel, MTV, Canal+, Animal planet, DR1, TV2, ITV, Channel 4, ZDF and many more. The documentary was shown worldwide.Profilm has filmed and produced over 40 documentaries and well over a hundred individual television programmes. Profilm has also produced television commercials and corporate videos.
