IF/Then is a new filmmaking initiative that awards monetary grants and provides year-round distribution mentorship to filmmakers creating short documentaries. The program was developed in partnership with, and supported by, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
IF/Then participants will be selected from pitch competitions at festivals, as well from alumni grantees across TFI’s filmmaker programs. One filmmaker selected from each competition, along with one TFI alumnus, will receive up to $20,000 in completion funding for his/her short film, ongoing mentorship year round, and participation in the IF/Then Distribution Initiative.
