Violet Pictures

Violet Pictures is a UK/AUS, distribution, programming, and production company. They currently represent for the UK, Oscar-nominee Hoop Dreams, Goya- winner The Silence of Others, and Recorder: The Marion Stokes Project. With their educational partners the Kent Film Foundation, Deal Film Club, Folkestone Harbour Company, Folkestone Fringe, Film Hub South East and South East Creatives we had the pleasure of training and developing the next generation of Kent-based filmmakers and programmers from 2018–2022 running a series of workshops and screenings. They programme the popular monthly Folkestone Doc Club at the Silver Screen Cinema and we are a partner on the Folkestone Documentary Festival which takes place at the Creative Folkestone Quarterhouse and Silver Screen Cinema each October. The festival is supported by the BFI, Folkestone Town Council and Creative Folkestone. This year also marks the return to producing with the short documentary Private View which features artist Sadie Lee and writer Libro Levi Bridgeman, directed by Sarah Myland and produced by Jan Dunn and James Collie. The film had its world premiere at the 32nd Melbourne Queer Film Festival and its UK Premiere at BFI Flare.
