The International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, one of the oldest and most renowned film festivals in the world, deals with political and aesthetic change, choosing its own standard of quality against which the short idea on celluloid is to be measured. It is one of the largest international platforms for the short film and known for its openness for experimental and artistic work. Oberhausen organises five competitions: International, German, films from North Rhine-Westphalia, Children and Youth Films and the MuVi Award for the Best German Music Video. A total of over 42,000 euros in prize money will be awarded.
