Libra Film

Independent film/TV production company founded in 1994, focusing on features, shorts and documentaries. Since 2000 Libra has produced 27 films, including the award-winning The Great Communist Bank Robbery by Alexandru Solomon, Katalin Varga by Peter Strickland (2009 Silver Bear, European Discovery of the Year at the EFA Awards), Tudor Giurgiu’s Love Sick (premiered at Berlinale’s Panorama), Of Snails and Men (awarded in Warsaw and Valladolid IFF) and Superman, Spiderman or Batman (2012 Best European Short Film). Libra was the local partner for Kornél Mundruczó’s Cannes 2008 competition film Delta (FIPRESCI Award) and co-produced the directorial debut of French actress Fanny Ardant, Ashes and Blood.
