born in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, Andreas Reisenbauer studied physics and chemistry at the University of Vienna. Later he began to study astronomy, film and theatre science, music and journalism. He works as a teacher of media studies and since 2002 as a scriptwriter and film producer. Since 2009, he directs some scripts himself.
In 2011 he cofounded the Austrian Independent Filmfestival in Vienna, which he heads 2016.
