Radim Špaček was born on 13 October 1973 in Ostrava.After his graduation in 1991, he worked as an assistant director of foreign production films (Swing Kids, Catherine Courage, Il Giovanni Mussolini) before being admitted to the FAMU Academy of Sciences Department for the first time. At the end of the first year, he interrupted his studies and went to the besieged Sarajevo (1993), where he produced his first film The Young Men Know the World (1995) in the production of Czech Television, the creative group of Čestmír Kopecký.
