Ligia Ciornei is a Romanian interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker who studied Film Directing and Film Production at the National University of Theater and Cinematography "I.L Caragiale" in Bucharest, where she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Film Production. Her international recognition grew with acclaimed short films "Vintage" and "Somewhere in Moldova," leading to her feature film debut "Clouds of Chernobyl."
Beyond film, Ciornei has established herself in interactive and multimedia arts. Her theater debut "Grounded" by George Brant received critical acclaim, while her performative installation "Citadela," exploring the stories of Romania's first female pilots, cemented her reputation as a versatile artist working across multiple disciplines.
