TUDOR GIURGIU is the founder of the production company Libra Film, film distribution company Transilvania Film, co-founder of Cityplex – local cinema chain (11 screens). Founder and President of Transilvania Int’l Film Festival – TIFF (1st and the most important Int’l festival for feature films in Romania). Founder of Romanian Film Promotion, organization dealing with promotion of Romanian films abroad and also with the annual organization of TIFF. Initiator of the GOPO Awards, annual awards for best achievements in local filmmaking, local equivalent of Oscars or Cesars). Member of the European Film Academy. Jury member in several intl. film festivals (Ludwigsburg, Crossing Europe Linz, Reykjavik, Prague, Angers, Amazonas) and member of the intl. jury of Emmy Awards 2012.
