Natalia Śliwowska was born in 1994 in Wrocław. She entered directing with a background in art photography and film studies. She completed her BA at the University of Groningen, where she specialized in film and theater criticism and analysis. Interested in the interventionist techniques of situationists as well as the concept of ostranenie, Natalia places her film work on the verge of an experimental and documentary.
In 2021, she received cum laude master's degree from the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam for the artistic research on performativity in documentary cinema, which she now works with in their collaborative film "Insurance Against Meteorites" she works on with artist Jorik Amit Galama.
