Zoya Laktionova is a Mariupol born film director. She appeared first as a character in "Ma" (10’) in 2017, and a year later she directed her first short "Diorama" (12’) about the mined sea in the Mariupol area. The film received an award in the MyStreetFilms at 2018 “86” Festival (Ukraine), has been selected by numerous European film festivals and released in Ukraine. Her next film "Territory of Empty Windows" (10’) premiered at the DocudaysUA and received awards in various festivals across Europe in 2021. Zoya now resides in Paris as a recipient of the 2022-23 Harriman Residencies of Columbia University. She works with themes of war, memory and personal stories.
