Born 19 July 1945 in Radom, Poland.1971: Master’s degree in Classical Philology at the University of Torun.1973: Graduate of the University Of Warsaw Institute Of Journalism (Photo, TV department)1972-82: Reporter, producer and director for TVP.1982: Emigrated to Sweden. Swedish citizen since 1985.Since 1983 Jerzy works as a freelancer for Swedish Television, the Swedish Film Institute, Finnish, Danish and Norwegian TV stations as well as Polish Television and recently Polish Film Institute PISF. Since 1993 cooperates regularly with ZDF and ARTE.Jerzy Sladkowski has produced and directed over 40 films, mainly documentaries, from the most remote locations of our planet. Human beings remain the primary focus of his interest. People facing dramatic changes, fighting for survival, as well as individuals trying just to live a decent life in an increasingly hardening environment – are the frequent heroes in Jerzy Sladkowski’s films.
