Jon Haukeland (b. 1973) studied history at the University of Oslo, and directing at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. He started working with documentaries as a reporter, journalist and director at the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) and has directed numerous documentaries for both television and film. In 1997, he became one of four owners of the production company Medieoperatørene. He made his fiction debut with the short film Behind the House in 2007.
