Director and camera operator for feature and documentary films. Lecturer at film schools (i.a. in Berlin, Hannover, Toruń, Warsaw). Graduate of the Cinematography Department at the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź. Between 1992-1994 he co-published "Film na Świecie" magazine. Member of the European Film Academy and the Council of the Polish Film Institute. He has been awarded for his achievements in cinematography and direction work - i.a. the Stanisław Wyspiański second class Award for achievements in cinematography work (1988), the "Laterna Magica" Award by the Minister of Culture and Art for cultural activity (1992), Polityka's Passport in the "film" category for 1993. He has also gained numerous awards at film festivals, i.a. the Silver Lions award for "Jeszcze nie wieczór” ("Before the Twigliht") at the 23. Polish Film Fesival in Gdynia, a special award at the San Sebastian International Film Festival in 1990 and a special award at the 35. Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, for his famous documentary "Nienormalni” ("The Abnormal").
