In 2013 he founded his production company Amerikafilm.
The 2014 finished film ASTA UPSET by Max Linz premiered at the Berlinale and started in German cinemas in 2015. THE HUMANITARIANS screened at the Berlinale 2015 and received the First Steps Award for Best Documentary. In 2019 he released three feature films: MUSIC & APOCALYPSE by Max Linz, GOLDEN TWENTIES by Sophie Kluge and UCHRONIA by Azin Feizabadi, all of which ran successfully at numerous film festivals (among them Berlinale 2019 and Filmfest Munich 2019) and were all released theatrically in Germany in 2019.
He is alumni of Berlinale Talents, Zurich Film Festival Masterclass, Jihlava Emerging Producers and has been giving workshops through several occasions. Since 2014 Maximilian Haslberger is member of the German Filmacademy.
