Born 1975 in Basel, Switzerland. Agostino Imondi is an Italian filmmaker. His professional career started in Melbourne in 2000 with community TV group SKA TV and Channel 31 Melbourne. His first short documentary, Waking up the Nation, about refugees in Australian detention centres was screened at various international film festivals. His feature length debut Neukölln Unlimited gained considerable critical and box office success, winning the Crystal Bear Award at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival in 2010, as well as prizes at international festivals in Copenhagen, Chicago and The Hague. The film was also nominated for the Peace Film Award (2010), the German Film Critics’ Award (2011), and the German Documentary Film Award (2011).
