Dominic Lees is Associate Professor in Filmmaking at the University of Reading and an experienced television and film director. He began experimenting with AI in filmmaking in 2019 and is a leading voice in debates around AI in the film industry. Dominic is lead writer on AI for the British Film Institute’s Sight and Sound magazine and works as a specialist advisor on film and television to the UK Parliament. He teaches and speaks on AI at international film industry events and festivals. Dominic’s particular interest is GenAI in documentary film production, authoring chapters in two upcoming books, The Ethics of Documentary Film and Documentary in the Era of AI.
