David Solomon spent the 1990s as a political conflict mediator and humanitarian negotiator in the Middle East and Balkan conflicts. He returned to pursue his original dream path as documentary filmmaker in 2004 when he moved to Belgrade where he lives today. He established a group of cinema verite filmmakers (Ateliers Varan Belgrade) with the support of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ateliers Varan Paris. Besides political mediation and conflict prevention, he has most recently been the Central and Eastern Europe tour manager for NDT, the Netherlands Dans Theater based in the Hague.
