Born August 28, 1970 in Frýdlant. Graduated in Zoology from the Charles University. 1993-1999, studied Documentary Film at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) and made several short films for Czech Television and the FEBIO production company. Worked briefly at the humanitarian organization People in Need. Currently works on a number of documentary projects. Having successfully finished his studies he worked in the Člověk v tísni company as part of his civil service duty, which ended in the summer of 2001. He is currently working on documentary projects focusing on painting and nature in Central Europe - Memory of Light (2001), The Man Who Painted the Sea (2005), Prints (2006), The Beautiful Flight of the Bees (2009).
