TV and radio journalist, a university graduate in Russian language and Literature worked at the Estonian State Radio and Television as Department Editor and a reporter till 1996.
Since 1997 Tallinn-based a freelance journalist and film director working for Estonian Television. Produced State Radio and television programs about Russian cultural heritage, European and US culture and problems of civilisation.
Andrei Tantsyrev is the author, scriptwriter and director of the following documentaries:
“Dangerous Proximity” (1996) (about an AIDS patient in Estonia)
“You, Me and Heroin” (2001) (teens’ behaviour in relation with narcotics)
“Over the Hemp-field Flight” (2002) (problems of a dialogue, and of future of Russian and Estonian youths in the Estonian Republic in the situation of a narcotic boom)
”Drug Terror” (2001/2002) (about families of drug-addicted people)
“Calamity Witnesses” (2003) (about juvenile drug addicts)
“Sergei and Boris” (2004) (about 2 men: one of whom chose life in a wheelchair while the other – death from drugs)

All documentaries were shown at international festivals and were awarded special prizes.
