After a childhood in Switzerland and an adolescence spent touring with bands, Jakub Jirásek is currently finishing his master’s degree in directing at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). In his work, Jakub usually focuses on cinematic storytelling with strong characters and a clever humor. As an active musician he also has a deep passion for music videos and creating audiovisual worlds that speak for themselves. His last short, Don’t Be a Pussy, premiered at Premiers Plans d’Angers 2020, won Best European Short over 7mins at Young Director Awards and was shortlisted for a BAFTA Student Award.
