Ioana Turcan is currently in her second year in the MFA Film Program at the College of Visual and Performing Arts, Syracuse University, NY as a Fulbright Alumna, an award she received for her studies in USA. Her work has been exhibited at film festivals around the world: Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, India, Sudan, Romania and USA, including Cannes Short Film Corner and Visions du Reel and received a nomination at the Romanian Academy Awards. She works primarily in film as well as video art, installation and performance. Ioana was born in Romania and received a BA in Image for Film and Television and a MA in Documentary Filmmaking from the Babeș-Bolyai University. In Romania, she co-founded an NGO, B4Film, that focuses on non-formal education in the visual arts and practice.
