Tanya Chekhova was born in Moscow, Russia and is now based in Berlin, Germany. She left Russia in 2021 for political reasons and stopped working there after February 2022. After 15 years directing mainly commercial projects, she switched her focus to independent documentaries with a socio-political commentary theme. Her previous documentary projects were shown and awarded prizes at festivals worldwide. Further and Further is her first feature length documentary.
